About Wellness With Kayt

I believe you can be all that you want to be if you just take the time to know yourself, your body, your spirit, and the world around you. ~Kayt

My Mission

I aim to encourage ordinary people struggling with their weight, food choices, and overall health and to equip them with the knowledge and power that will allow them to thrive.

I use integrative nutrition i.e. mind/body perspective to work with clients and/or their medical professionals to find practical and sustainable ways to move toward wellness.

I want to give people a solid resource that makes information accessible, contains links to trustworthy sources, and breaks it down to make it understandable. Information is so accessible in our culture that it is hard to find trustworthy sources!

Cultivating Growth

I strive to cultivate growth in every person I make contact with by engaging in conversations about nutrition, physiology, cultural health, and food quality/access.

My heart and expertise are for those who are looking for education about nutrition, or struggling with diabetes/pre-diabetes.  Knowing how to care for your body gives you new life!

Giving life can also be a smile, a kind word, or sharing your passion with others how to thrive in who they are. Give someone life today!

My Wellness Journey

It’s been a long one but I’ve made it this far!

The first time I remember being aware of my body/health was around age 13. My back had been in so much pain and I didn’t understand what was happening or how to ask for help. My parents took me to a chiropractor and I was diagnosed with Scoliosis.

By the age of 16, I was free from all of the major spine curvatures! I expected this to be the answer to all of my problems… but I couldn’t figure out why I was still in so much pain. This began a trend of “just pushing through” my life and would eventually lead me to complete exhaustion.

I did all the sports and activities that I could and earned a bulged disc in my lower spine and a few moderate concussions along the way that took my sense of smell and began a new trend of minor headaches. I wore these like a badge of honor and only assumed that if others weren’t struggling, they just weren’t pushing as hard as I was.

Fast forward to college, I was still having major issues with pain. I felt like all of my joints were on fire and I just couldn’t do the things I wanted to do as an 18-year-old Freshman. It felt strange to be the odd man out unable to do normal college things like staying up late, playing sports, and sitting through class without being in even more pain.
